2024 First Interstate Bank Believers & Achievers Scholarship Gala raised $143,198 for scholarships!

Over 200 donors attended this year's 2024 Scholarship Gala on August 17th. BHSU Foundation was honored to present Jon Batteen with the 2023 Difference Maker Award. His generosity will create lasting opportunities, empowering students to achieve their academic dreams for years to come. His transformational gift establishes a scholarship endowment, providing ongoing support for future generations of Business, Economics, and Veteran students pursuing their degrees at BHSU.

Elly Storm was this year's Make a Difference Scholarship Recipient. This scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving student who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement, a commitment to making a positive impact, and a strong desire to make a lasting difference within the local community. This is the first year the scholarship provides full, in-state tuition coverage.

Among numerous applications featuring community project proposals, the selection committee chose Storm and her “Paws for Mental Health” project. Storm’s project works with the BHSU Psychology Club and Northern Hills Humane Society to support the shelter through volunteerism. The initiative also serves BHSU students by providing emotional support during finals week through engagement with shelter animals currently awaiting adoption.
